what we leave behind. these rag doll memories, these tattered remnants, shredded cloth, sun-bleached plastic stories etched into the cow bones cracked, bones left to steam on hillsides. along roads we find these poems, these loose-tongue creatures waiting in the late noon sun, they find themselves scattered, disjointed, abandoned. sometimes dolls never speak, never tell their stories; others speak of glorious worlds.
